Baseball Recap: Cairo Comes Up Short

Cairo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They fell 9-5 to the Miller County Pirates. The Syrupmakers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Pirates earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Cairo's defeat dropped their record down to 8-15. As for Miller County, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season.

Cairo will head out to take on Worth County at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Rams' pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so the Syrupmakers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Miller County, they will host Cottondale at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
