Basketball Game Preview: Wasco Tigers vs. Chavez Titans

Wasco hasn't had much luck against Chavez recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Wasco Tigers will take on the Chavez Titans at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Wasco beat Kennedy 42-32. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Wasco can attribute much of their success to Vianey Velasquez, who posted 11 points and five steals. That's the most steals Velasquez has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Camila Castillo, who put up ten points.

Meanwhile, Chavez didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Delano on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 36-32 victory.

Chavez has also been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-10 record this season. As for Wasco, their win bumped their record up to 10-11.

Wasco came up short against Chavez when the teams last played on January 7th, falling 40-33. Can Wasco avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
