Softball Recap: Westwood Takes a Loss

Westwood extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping them down to 3-8. They came up short against Crisp Academy, falling 9-0. If Westwood was looking for revenge after losing 17-5 to Crisp Academy when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Crisp Academy, they pushed their record up to 9-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The result was nothing new for Crisp Academy, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.

For Crisp Academy's part, Brynleigh Gravitt tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ansley Simpson, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Another player making a difference was Kylee Odom, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

While Westwood had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
