Baseball Recap: Pebblebrook Takes a Loss

It was a Battle of the Birds when Pebblebrook duked it out with Hillgrove on Tuesday. The Falcons lost 14-4 to the Hawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-0 last Friday.

Pebblebrook saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Damian (DJ) Phipps, who scored two runs and stole five bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Pebblebrook has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Hillgrove, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-9 record this season.

Pebblebrook will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Cristo Rey Atlanta at 5:30 p.m. Pebblebrook's pitchers better be ready for this one: Cristo Rey Atlanta has averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season. As for Hillgrove, they will face off against Campbell at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
