Baseball Game Preview: Leo Lions vs. Lindblom Eagles

Leo is 1-6 against Lindblom since March of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. Leo will host Lindblom at 4:30 p.m. Lindblom took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Leo, who comes in off a win.

Leo took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They never let Bogan get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Lions considering their one-run performance the game before.

Devin Vassel made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, Edwin Hernandez and Aiden Lott did most of the damage at the plate: Hernandez scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3, while Lott went 2-for-3 with one home run and five RBI. Those five RBI gave Lott a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jason Lee, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Leo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .645. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Lindblom fell victim to Farragut and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Admirals, falling 13-0.

The win got Leo back to even at 2-2. As for Lindblom, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
