Basketball Game Preview: Clear Creek Golddiggers vs. Heritage Christian Eagles

Clear Creek hasn't had much luck against Heritage Christian recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Clear Creek Golddiggers will challenge the Heritage Christian Eagles at 7:00 p.m.

On Wednesday, Clear Creek was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 38-37 to Belleview Christian.

Despite the loss, Clear Creek got top-tier performance from Zephyrus Schuessler, who posted 19 points and seven steals. Schuessler's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Weichel, who scored seven points.

Meanwhile, the third road contest was the charm for Heritage Christian, as they earned their first road win of the season. They blew past Dawson School 71-51 on Tuesday.

Heritage Christian is also on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Clear Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

Clear Creek came up short against Heritage Christian in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 63-54. Can Clear Creek avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
