Baseball Recap: Fairfield Comes Up Short

Fairfield lost to Springboro back in April of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Indians fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 5-4. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Fairfield got a good showing from Hayden West, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. West has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Beckett Clemmons made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Fairfield's defeat dropped their record down to 15-9. As for Springboro, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-6.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Fairfield will square off against Lebanon at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Springboro, they will take on Butler at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Panthers 3, the Aviators 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
