Softball Recap: St. Charles West Victorious

St. Charles West's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the St. Pius X Lancers.

Evelyn Denison spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Zorea Shaw, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those runs were her first of the season. Taylor Krahl was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs and one double.

St. Charles West now has a winning record of 7-6. As for St. Pius X, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. St. Charles West will take on Orchard Farm at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for St. Pius X, they will challenge St. Clair at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
