Basketball Game Preview: Palm Springs Indians vs. Jurupa Hills Spartans

The Palm Springs Indians are taking a road trip to challenge the Jurupa Hills Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Wednesday, Palm Springs ended up a good deal behind Xavier Prep and lost 42-25.

Despite the defeat, Palm Springs saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Shayla Bates posted eight points and 11 rebounds. Bates is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last six games she's played. Eiresslee Wells was another key player, putting up six points and 12 boards.

Meanwhile, Jurupa Hills came up short against Notre Dame on Wednesday and fell 43-31.

Palm Springs has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-10 record this season. As for Jurupa Hills, their loss dropped their record down to 7-12.

Palm Springs came out on top in a nail-biter against Jurupa Hills when the teams last played back in November of 2022, sneaking past 29-27. Will Palm Springs repeat their success, or does Jurupa Hills have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
