Basketball Recap: Grossmont Foothillers vs. Westview Wolverines
Grossmont and Westview squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Grossmont had to settle for second. They took a 53-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Westview Wolverines. The Foothillers' loss signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.

Grossmont lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Aakash Price, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Price is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least nine every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Arionna Simpson, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten rebounds.
Mia Jacobson was her usual excellent self, shooting 56% from the field to rack up 22 points along with eight boards and three steals for Westview. Katie Graves was another key player, putting up six points in addition to nine rebounds and six assists.
The defeat was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 22-4. As for Westview, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 20-8.
Grossmont wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 51-46 loss against Mark Keppel on the 4th. As for Westview, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 51-39 defeat against Francis Parker on the 25th.
