Baseball Game Preview: Riverton Silverwolves vs. Jordan Beetdiggers

The Riverton Silverwolves will square off against the Jordan Beetdiggers at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Riverton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

Riverton heads in on the heels of a playoff matchup on Monday. They lost 9-0 to Lehi. The Silverwolves have struggled against the Pioneers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

Rocky Downs was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, Jordan faced American Fork in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Beetdiggers wound up with the same score they had in their last game (11-3), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss they have suffered since April 4th.

Isaac Salazar made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Riverton's record now sits at 19-9. As for Jordan, their record is now 15-13.

Riverton was able to grind out a solid win over Jordan in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, winning 7-4. Do the Silverwolves have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Beetdiggers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
