Baseball Recap: Shaw's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

After soaring to 17 runs the game before, Shaw was a bit more limited in their match on Wednesday. They came up short against the Brookstone Cougars, falling 14-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Raiders have suffered since March 12th.

Kingsley Long was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

Shaw moved to 12-10 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Brookstone, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shaw will challenge Spencer at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Spencer has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.44 runs per game on average), something Shaw will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Brookstone, they will square off against Columbus at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Brookstone will need to watch out since Columbus has now posted at least ten runs in their last three games.
