Baseball Recap: Elbert County Beats Oglethorpe County for Their Third Straight Victory

Elbert County had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They never let the Oglethorpe County Patriots get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. That's two games straight that the Blue Devils have won by exactly ten runs.

Haven Adams looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brayden Ingram, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Cheyvis McClendon was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

Elbert County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .400 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Elbert County's victory bumped their record up to 15-7. As for Oglethorpe County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-13.
