Football Recap: San Pasqual Takes a Loss + How To Watch

If San Pasqual was riding high fresh off their 40-14 takedown of Rancho Buena Vista two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Golden Eagles were beaten by the San Marcos Knights 35-7 on Friday. The Golden Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-7.

Despite the loss, San Pasqual still got an impressive performance from Robert Renteria, who rushed for 78 yards on only eight carries, and also threw for 103 yards on ten of 18 attempts.

Zamar Reese had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 116 yards and two scores on only seven carries, while also picking up 40 receiving yards and one TD for San Marcos. Reese's longest rush was for an impressive 67 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Another player making a difference was Kreet Makihele, who threw for 173 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

San Pasqual's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for San Marcos, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1.

Looking ahead, San Pasqual will square off against Westview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for San Marcos, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Oceanside at 7:15 p.m. on October 3.
