Basketball Recap: Payton Siquig Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Terra Linda

On Saturday, the Kennedy Titans didn't have too much breathing room in their game against the Terra Linda Trojans, but they still walked away with a 47-42 victory.

Kennedy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Payton Siquig out in front who went 7 of 16 en route to 22 points and three steals. Siquig is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Catherine Cheng was another key player, putting up 14 points and eight boards.

Kennedy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups.

Kennedy's victory bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Terra Linda, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season.

When Kennedy and Terra Linda next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Kennedy will face off against Vallejo and their six-game winning streak at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Terra Linda will try to stop San Marin's three-game winning streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
