Basketball Recap: Bloomsburg Starts Season with Win Against Shamokin Area

Bloomsburg had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They strolled past the Shamokin Area Indians with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 39-23.

Bloomsburg's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ally Bang, who posted ten points in addition to six steals and five assists. Those five assists gave Bang a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lucy Maclay, who earned eight points and 16 boards.

Bloomsburg has already played their next contest, a 47-29 win against Montoursville on the 8th. As for Shamokin Area, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 41-31 victory against Shikellamy on the 3rd.
