Basketball Recap: Alameda Comes Up Short

Alameda entered their game against San Ramon Valley on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Alameda Hornets were beaten by the San Ramon Valley Wolves 79-47. The Hornets lost against the Wolves in their previous head to head back in December of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 78-25 score last time.

Alameda's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-5. As for San Ramon Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season.

Alameda and San Ramon Valley should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Alameda (ranked 139th) will meet Encinal (ranked 350th) at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, San Ramon Valley will challenge Dougherty Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday up 284 places (18 vs. 302).
