Basketball Recap: Anniyah Banks' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Pleasant Grove over Folsom

Pleasant Grove lost against Folsom back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Eagles fell 52-40 to the Bulldogs. The game marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Pleasant Grove's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anniyah Banks, who went 5-for-6 en route to 12 points. Kate Myers was another key player, dropping a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Pleasant Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Folsom, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Coming up, Pleasant Grove and Rio Linda will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played. That contest will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Myers and LaRay Mitchell. As for Folsom, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Cosumnes Oaks at 8:30 p.m. on Friday.
