Soccer Recap: Grayson Takes Down Ranked Archer

Grayson faced Archer in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Rams' defense stepped up to hand the Tigers a 1-0 shutout. Grayson had to overcome some adversity as Danny Juarez-Arrascaeta and Tolu Adeyemi were both handed red cards.

Grayson's one-goal win came courtesy of Andrew Seward, who's now up to two this season.

Grayson pushed their record up to 14-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those seven matches. As for Archer, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-2.

Grayson and Archer will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Rams see the pitch they'll take on Discovery at 7:30 p.m. on the 15th. As for Archer, their break will end when they face Heritage at 7:30 p.m. on the 15th.
