Football Recap: Lake City Takes a Loss

Lake City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 44-19 to the Zumbrota-Mazeppa Cougars. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 19-13 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Lake City now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Zumbrota-Mazeppa, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Looking ahead, Lake City will host Red Wing at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will be up against the Wingers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 53.4 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Zumbrota-Mazeppa, they will challenge Cotter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
