Softball Recap: Peach County Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

Peach County won against Dougherty on Thursday with 16 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Trojans didn't even let the Westover Patriots on the board, marking the Trojans' second-straight 16-0 shutout. Considering the Trojans have won nine contests by more than 11 runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Shaniyah Gibson and Taleyah Marable did most of the damage at the plate: Gibson got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Marable went 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Those four RBI gave Marable a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jaiden Carroll, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Peach County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Peach County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.1 runs over those games. As for Westover, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Peach County will host Crawford County at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Westover, they will challenge Bainbridge at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
