Softball Recap: Elkhorn South Takes Down Ranked Fremont

Elkhorn South faced Fremont in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Storm blew past the Tigers 20-9. The Storm haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Lauren Schneider made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Schneider was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Paityn Spencer was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Kacie Hinrichs was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

Elkhorn South always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .658. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fremont only posted an OBP of .458.

Elkhorn South now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Fremont, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.
