Basketball Recap: La Quinta Now 14-1 over Last 15 Games

La Quinta extended their road winning streak to five games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Katie Nguyen. The La Quinta Aztecs really took it to the Orange Panthers for the full four quarters, racking up a 41-6 victory thanks in part to Nguyen, who went 6 for 10 on her way to 17 points and three steals. That's the most points she has posted since back in December of 2023.

The team also got some help courtesy of Katelyn Vo, who posted six points in addition to nine rebounds and three blocks. She is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last six games she's played.

La Quinta is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.4 points per game. As for Orange, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record this season.

La Quinta won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Torrance at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. La Quinta's defense has only allowed 26.1 points per game this season, so Torrance's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Orange, they will face off against Santiago at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
