Mary G. Montgomery put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 28-21 win over the Fairhope Pirates. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Vikings also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2024.

Kamron Smith continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, picking up 75 receiving yards and one score, while also rushing for 119 yards. Another player making a difference was Chad Schrimspire, who rushed for 62 yards and one TD on only seven carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Mary G. Montgomery was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 211 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fairhope only rushed for 64.

Despite the loss, Fairhope had strong showings from Andres Hunt, who picked up 144 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns, and Trey Garner, who threw for 222 yards and a pair of TDs. Hunt was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 54 yards.

Mary G. Montgomery's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Fairhope, with the defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mary G. Montgomery will host Baker at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hornets will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last. As for Fairhope, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Daphne at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pirates will need to watch out since the Trojans have now posted at least 31 points in their last seven contests.
