Football Game Preview: Cedar Hill Longhorns vs. Harker Heights Knights + How To Watch

The Cedar Hill Longhorns will venture away from home to challenge the Harker Heights Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Cedar Hill is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 42 points last Friday, they were much more limited against Duncanville on Thursday. They were outmatched by the Panthers and Pantherettes and fell 29-0. While losing is never fun, the Longhorns can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 57th, while the Panthers and Pantherettes are ranked third).

Meanwhile, Harker Heights waltzed into their contest on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They walked away with a 24-14 win over the Wildcats.

Harker Heights' win came from a few key players Cedar Hill will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Hudson Humble, who threw for 206 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes. 98 of Humble's passing yards were hauled in by Kristian Nobles.

Harker Heights was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 227 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 156 rushing yards in six consecutive matchups.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Harker Heights' defense and their seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Micah Rollins and Pressdon Johnson, who racked up five sacks between them. Johnson is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least five every time he's taken the field this season. Cooper Howard was another major factor on D, making 16 total tackles and defending one pass.

Cedar Hill has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season. As for Harker Heights, their record now sits at 8-2.
