Recap: Albany Warriors vs. King City Wildkats

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pattonsburg, The Albany Warriors were happy to have found some success on Friday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 62-12 win over King City. The result was nothing new for Albany, who have now won four contests by 40 points or more so far this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Albany to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chase Cline, who threw for 148 yards and four touchdowns on only nine passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Kyle Emerson also helped out with an impressive 88 receiving yards.

Despite the defeat, King City saw an underclassman step up: Ryder Sample picked up 96 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Albany's win was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 2-8 King City and 2-7 North Andrew (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 38.3% over those games). As for King City, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Albany does not have any more games scheduled as of now. King City will head out on the road to face off against Stanberry at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
