Soccer Game Preview: Pioneer vs. Rodriguez

The Pioneer Patriots will take on the Rodriguez Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Thursday, Pioneer came up short against Vacaville and fell 3-1. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 369th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 27th).

Pioneer's goal came courtesy of Camille Salazar, who's now up to three this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Rodriguez, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past River City 2-1.

Pioneer's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Rodriguez, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.
