Softball Recap: Wray/Yuma Wins Going Away Against Holyoke

Wray/Yuma's game last Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Holyoke Dragons. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Dragons: they've now won four in a row.

Priscylla White spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Wray/Yuma let Clara Oestman and London King run wild. Oestman went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI, while King earned three runs and three stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Grace Jones, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Wray/Yuma kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Holyoke only managed five hits.

Wray/Yuma's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Holyoke, their record is now 1-7.

Wray/Yuma wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 15-0 loss against Sterling on the 5th. As for Holyoke, they will take on Florence at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
