Volleyball Recap: Flour Bluff Takes a Loss

Flour Bluff was the 2-0 winner over Lake Travis when they last played one another back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Hornets fell just short of the Cavaliers by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Flour Bluff sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 19-25, 25-21.

Their offense was headlined by Kate Croft and Alyssa Thornton, who picked up 11 kills apiece. They got some help from Lola Fisher and her 21 assists.

Flour Bluff's defeat dropped their record down to 18-6. As for Lake Travis, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.

Flour Bluff and Lake Travis should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Hornets will square off against Corpus Christi Moody at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (73 vs. 910). Meanwhile, Lake Travis (ranked 12th) will meet Cedar Park (ranked 81st) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
