Football Recap: Magruder Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Magruder was the 27-14 winner over Gaithersburg when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Colonels took a 23-6 bruising from the Trojans on Saturday.

Zain Smith threw for 74 yards while completing 77.8% of his passes. Ryan Leedy was his top target, picking up 34 receiving yards. On the ground, Caleb Smallwood rushed for 53 yards and one touchdown.

Magruder dropped their record down to 2-6 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Gaithersburg, they moved to 3-5 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Magruder will face off against Damascus at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Gaithersburg, they will take on Quince Orchard at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars' defense has only allowed 7.9 points per game this season, so the Trojans' offense will have their work cut out for them.
