Football Recap: Ridgedale Comes Up Short

Ridgedale played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 36-7 loss at the hands of the Elgin Comets. The Rockets haven't had much luck with the Comets recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Elgin had a senior duo take command as Nate Freshouer rushed for 127 yards and one TD on only 12 carries and Jack Van Gundy rushed for 77 yards and a pair of scores. Freshouer's longest rush was for an impressive 50 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Ridgedale's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Elgin, the victory also got them back to even at 1-1.
