Softball Game Preview: LaGrange Grangers vs. Spalding Jaguars

The LaGrange Grangers will head out on the road to challenge the Spalding Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Thursday, LaGrange didn't have quite enough to beat Fayette County and fell 8-7.

Meanwhile, Spalding strolled into their game on Saturday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They walked away with a 12-9 victory over Peach County.

Ra'Khiya Duffie was a standout: she went 2-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Duffie is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Macie Robertson, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Spalding kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in August of 2024.

Spalding's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for LaGrange, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Everything went LaGrange's way against Spalding in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, as LaGrange made off with an 8-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Grangers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
