Football Recap: St. John Comes Up Short

St. John and Argonia/Attica squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but St. John had to settle for second. They took a blow against the Titans, falling 68-28. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 52-22.

Leading Argonia/Attica to victory were Carson Vineyard and Maddex Hemberger. Vineyard gained 244 total yards and four touchdowns, while Hemberger threw for 159 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 passes. Hemberger's passing game has become a key predictor of the Titans' success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-3 otherwise.

With the defeat, St. John broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-5. As for Argonia/Attica, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.

St. John does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Argonia/Attica, they will face off against Wallace County on Friday. The Titans will need to watch out since the Wildcats have now posted at least 31 points in their last four matchups.
