Basketball Recap: Macy Singh's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Holtville over Calipatria

Holtville was the 42-27 winner over Calipatria when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. The Holtville Vikings lost 54-34 to the Calipatria Hornets on Thursday. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Holtville lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Macy Singh, who posted 11 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Melany Estrada, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 11 boards.

Holtville's defeat dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Calipatria, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-10.

Holtville has already played their next game, a 37-25 victory against Southwest EC on the 4th. As for Calipatria, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 67-17 loss against Brawley on the 4th.
