Softball Recap: Eaglecrest Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Columbine

Eaglecrest faced Columbine in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Raptors fell 9-6 to the Rebels. The Raptors have struggled against the Rebels recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Lelia Kelliher and Haisley Elliott stepped up to the plate in a big way. Kelliher went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double, while Elliott got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Giana Vialpando Williams was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Having lost for the first time this season, Eaglecrest fell to 6-1. As for Columbine, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

Coincidentally, Eaglecrest and Columbine will both be playing Windsor the next time they take the field. The Rebels will head out to face the Wizards at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, while the Raptors will play them later in the day, at 3:15 p.m.
