Basketball Recap: Susquenita Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Susquenita, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. Everything went their way against the Millersburg Indians on Saturday as the Susquenita Blackhawks made off with a 50-27 victory. The Blackhawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Susquenita can attribute much of their success to Riley Egresits, who posted 12 points and three steals. What's more, Egresits also posted a 80% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Tierney Stuempfle, who had five points and seven rebounds.

Susquenita smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Millersburg only pulled down five offensive rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why Millersburg lost, don't look at Emma Miller. Despite the final result, she earned eight points in addition to ten boards and three blocks. Miller is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in each of the last 16 games she's played. Amaya Hoffman was another key player, putting up six points.

Susquenita is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. As for Millersburg, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-16.

Susquenita has already played their next game, a 70-40 loss against Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy on the 10th. Millersburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
