Basketball Recap: Archbishop Riordan Comes Up Short

Archbishop Riordan was the 60-59 winner over St. Ignatius College Preparatory when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Archbishop Riordan Crusaders took a 55-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the St. Ignatius College Preparatory Wildcats.

Despite the loss, Archbishop Riordan saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Trenia Dunbar posted 18 points. Mafalda Fontan Rodriguez was another key player, putting up nine points.

Archbishop Riordan's defeat dropped their record down to 12-6. As for St. Ignatius College Preparatory, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-7.

Archbishop Riordan wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 61-44 victory against Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory on the 30th. As for St. Ignatius College Preparatory, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 52-43 loss against Valley Christian on the 1st.
