Basketball Recap: North Penn-Liberty Comes Up Short

If North Penn-Liberty was riding high fresh off their 41-11 takedown of Sayre last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The North Penn-Liberty Mountie had to suffer through a 56-29 loss at the hands of the Benton Tigers.

Several Mountie players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Haley Litzelman, who posted seven points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Kendall Graham, who scored 11 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.

Even though they lost, North Penn-Liberty smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in seven consecutive games.

North Penn-Liberty's defeat dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Benton, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.

North Penn-Liberty does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Benton, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 50-43 loss against Millville on the 22nd.
