Soccer Recap: Douglas County Makes It Four in a Row at Home

Douglas County won against Chapel Hill last Tuesday with five goals and they decided to stick to that goal total again on Friday. The Douglas County Tigers were the clear victor by a 5-1 margin over the Mt. Zion Eagles. With the Tigers ahead 3-0 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Douglas County pushed their record up to 5-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those four contests. As for Mt. Zion, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Douglas County will welcome Carrollton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Carrollton will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Douglas County surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mt. Zion, they will look to defend their home pitch on Tuesday against Atlanta Classical Academy at 7:30 p.m. Atlanta Classical Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.8 goals per game this season.
