Football Recap: Lee Takes a Loss

Lee extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 1-3. They were beaten by the Iowa Colony Pioneers 57-0. While losing is never fun, the Ganders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 558th, while the Pioneers are ranked 90th).

As for Iowa Colony, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Fans of they have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Leading Iowa Colony to victory were Aaron Tenner and Carson White. Tenner gained 108 total yards and four touchdowns, while White threw for 133 yards and five touchdowns on perfect 6-for-6 passing. White is crushing it when it comes to passing touchdowns: he's passed for at least three every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Jayden Warren, who picked up 62 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Lee will take on rival Texas City at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th. Meanwhile, Iowa Colony is set to face off against their familiar foe Randle at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Pioneers 9.5, the Lions 10.2) so any points scored will be well earned.
