Basketball Recap: Downtown Magnets Takes a Loss

Downtown Magnets was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They took a blow against the Annenberg Panthers, falling 54-8. While losing is never fun, the Suns can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1239th, while the Panthers are ranked 259th).

Downtown Magnets lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Rachael Lee, who posted six points and seven steals. Lee is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last four games she's played.

Downtown Magnets' loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Annenberg, the win keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Downtown Magnets is taking a road trip to challenge USC-MAE at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. USC-MAE's defense has only allowed 26.2 points per game this season, so Downtown Magnets' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Annenberg, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Annenberg Panthers take on the Aspire Ollin Jaguars at 2:30 p.m. on Friday.
