Basketball Recap: Buckley Comes Up Short

Buckley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Pilibos Eagles and fell 70-26. The Griffins were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-18.

It was another big night for Nanar Shahinian, who went 8 for 16 en route to 20 points in addition to six steals and five assists for Pilibos. Shahinian has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Lara Kasbarian was another key player, putting up 12 points and eight steals.

Buckley's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Pilibos, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-9.

Buckley will host Oakwood at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Oakwood will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Buckley surely won't give up without a fight. As for Pilibos, they will venture away from home to face off against Milken at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Pilibos' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests.
