Basketball Recap: Dayspring Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Dayspring Christian Academy lost against Lyons back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Dayspring Christian Academy Eagles took a 57-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lyons Lions. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 255th, while the Lions are ranked 90th).

When it comes to explaining why Dayspring Christian Academy lost, don't look at Max Krehbiel. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Owen Mcclanahan, who posted nine points and eight rebounds.

Caleb Christiansen was his usual excellent self, going 6 of 12 en route to 15 points and five steals for Lyons. The match was Christiansen's 11th in a row with at least ten points. Zack LaCrosse was another key player, putting up six points in addition to six boards and three steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Dayspring Christian Academy and nudges their season record down to 4-9. As for Lyons, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-4.

Dayspring Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 79-36 loss against Bishop Machebeuf on the 30th. As for Lyons, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 68-65 defeat against SkyView Academy on the 31st.
