Volleyball Recap: Opp Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Opp faced off against Geneva on Saturday. The Bobcats took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. The Bobcats haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Carreline Spears paced Opp's offense, picking up eight kills. Spears got some help from Rylie Kate Thrash and her seven assists. Shayna Wiggins and Chloe Bentley kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Opp's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Geneva, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-3.

Opp wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Straughn on the 16th. Geneva has also already played their next game (against Daleville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
