Recap: Steel Valley Ironmen vs. Avella Eagles
The Steel Valley Ironmen's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 46-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Avella.
Avella got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ava Frank out in front who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. The game was Frank's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Sydney Strope was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 16 rebounds.
Steel Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Avella, their victory bumped their record up to 2-7.
Steel Valley will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Clairton at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Clairton is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Avella, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against West Greene at 6:00 p.m. West Greene is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
