Hayden Werner turned in yet another pitching appearance with fewer than three walks surrendered on Wednesday. He turned in his biggest game of the season, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Fishers is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 10-12 otherwise.

Werner's strong effort led Fishers over Brownsburg and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers are 7-2 against the Bulldogs going back to May of 2022, a lead they'll look to extend.
