Basketball Recap: Las Plumas Now 8-1 over Last Nine Games

Las Plumas extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Liliana Carrillo. The Las Plumas Thunderbirds simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat the Oroville Tigers 57-30 thanks in part to Carrillo, who went 7 for 11 en route to 17 points and six assists. Those six assists gave her a new career-high.

Ava Hepworth was another key player, putting up eight points and ten boards. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 16 games she's played dating back to last season.

Gianna Brown and Serenity Miller certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Brown dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 boards, while Miller posted nine points and four steals. That was a full 50% of Oroville's points, marking the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Las Plumas is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.7 points per game. As for Oroville, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.

Las Plumas has already played their next game, a 37-22 win against Corning on the 24th. As for Oroville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 59-34 victory against Live Oak on the 23rd.
