Softball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Severance

Severance waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over the Timnath Cubs. The Silver Knights' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last three games.

Katie Thomas made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, two doubles, and one triple. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in October of 2024.

Severance was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .667. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in five consecutive matches.

Severance's record now sits at 8-3-1. As for Timnath, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6-1.

Severance has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Roosevelt on the 10th. As for Timnath, they will welcome Lyons at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Cubs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
