Baseball Recap: West Laurens Comes Up Short

West Laurens suffered their closest defeat since May 1, 2024 on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Bleckley County Royals by a score of 3-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Royals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-0 back in March.

West Laurens has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-10 record this season. As for Bleckley County, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season.

West Laurens will head out to challenge Cross Creek at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Raiders are facing the Razorbacks at the right time seeing as the Razorbacks are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Bleckley County, they have already played their next game, a 13-0 victory against Academy for Classical Education on the 10th.
