Softball Game Preview: St. Michael the Archangel Guardians vs. St. Pius X Warriors

The St. Michael the Archangel Guardians will head out to take on the St. Pius X Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

St. Michael the Archangel is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest defeat since September 3rd on Wednesday. They lost 10-0 to Summit Christian Academy. The loss continues a trend for the Guardians in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost nine in a row.

Savannah hit St. Pius X with a five-run second inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Warriors came up short against the Savages, falling 11-0.

St. Michael the Archangel's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7. As for St. Pius X, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

St. Michael the Archangel was able to grind out a solid victory over St. Pius X in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 5-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Guardians since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
